We are blessed at Cardiff to have two Catholic Chaplaincy buildings; 62 Park Place is the main Chaplaincy building at the heart of the campus and Newman Hall, slightly to the North of the city centre, is a Catholic Hall for residential students. Gifted by the Edward Curran trust, the Chaplaincy is entirely owned by the Archdiocese of Cardiff. We therefore aim to serve all Catholic staff & students from whichever Higher Education institution they work or study at; we also welcome those looking for friendship and those interested in learning about our faith. If you are new to Cardiff or already resident here, why not pop in?

University Catholic Chaplaincy

Located at the heart of the University campus, The Chaplaincy at 62 offers a space to relax, socialise and study throughout the day and up to the evening, 7 days a week. Benefitting from a common room, library, house chapel and resident Chaplain Fr Nicholas, this is the main location for our student Masses and sacramental provision.

Newman Hall

Located to the north of the city centre, just behind Nazareth house, Newman Hall is our Catholic hall of residence, with 16 undergraduate and 4 Postgraduate rooms all en-suite on offer. It isn’t necessary to be a Catholic to live here but it is a requirement that each resident agrees to respect a particular Catholic ethos whilst living in the community. Newman Hall offers two cooked meals a week but is otherwise self-catering.

The Chaplaincy exists solely for the pastoral care of Catholic University staff and students. We are a nonprofit organisation, part of a registered charity and are largely dependent on donations and income produced through our own resources.
