Cardiff University Catholic Chaplaincy is spread across two buildings. 62 Park Place is our main Chaplaincy building, which holds lounge & kitchen facilities on the ground floor with a house chapel and library for both resident and non-resident students to use. Park Place also benefits from the Aquinas Hall at the rear of the building, accessible via the side of the house from the street or the lane connecting Cathays Train Station and Corbett Rd, leading to Cathays Terrace. The Aquinas Hall is where the 6pm Chaplaincy Sunday Mass is celebrated during Term Time.

The second building is our Catholic Hall of residence; Newman Hall, which is slightly to the North of Park place, behind Nazareth House, at the junction where Colum Road and North Road meet. Newman Hall has 20 ensuite-bedrooms, which offer extremely competitive rents, free WiFi, a large bar/lounge, secluded garden, refectory and house chapel facilities. Both buildings have the Blessed Sacrament reserved in their respective chapels for private prayer.

You can contact us by phone or email; if using the phone, please leave a voicemail as Fr Nicholas’ pastoral responsibilities mean that he is often not able to be at his desk.

Catholic Chaplain

Please be aware that the University Chaplaincy is for the Pastoral care of Staff and Students at Cardiff University and the other institutes of Higher Education around Cardiff. As such, it is entirely separate from the Chaplaincy for the University Hospital of Wales. If you have an emergency end of life situation, you should contact the Hospital switchboard on 02920 747 747 and ask for the on-duty Catholic chaplain.
